Europe still seeks to impose a universal charger, including Apple

Legislation: A committee of the European Parliament voted unanimously in favor of the adoption of a law imposing a universal charger for mobile phone manufacturers and also tablets. Will push Apple to abandon its own ports in favor of Micro USB?
In 2009, the European Commission signed an agreement with leading manufacturers who undertook to provide a universal charger from 2010.In 2011, 90% of mobile phones sold in the European market are sold with this universal charger, believed Europe.
Mission accomplished? Not quite. And also many other devices have been developed. This is why the Internal Market Committee of Parliament has voted unanimously a resolution in favor of creating a law requiring companies manufacture a universal charger.
One objective is thus to reduce electronic waste. "We urge Member States and manufacturers to introduce a universal charger to end the chaos cable for mobile phones and tablets," said the representative of the Commission, Barbara Weiler.
If all manufacturers are listed here, they are actually very little to not abide by the agreement of 2009. And the main offender is Apple, still attached to its owner on its various appliances port. For the consumer, the Micro-USB requires the purchase of an adapter.
