Six reasons not to rush on iOS 7

Application: For touch oldest iPhone, iPad or iPod owners, rush on the last major version of iOS, iOS 7 is not necessarily in their own interest. Here are six good reasons to give up, at least temporarily.

The latest version of iOS, iOS 7 is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The former Apple devices owners, however, may prefer to defer the update of the operating system. 

The update for this equipment is not mandatory, nor even in some cases desirable. Here are six reasons that could justify patience. 

1 - Some applications are not compatible 

As for almost all software releases, applications may need a period of time to be consistent . IOS 7, existing applications will go through the validation box. 

Apple has indeed revised its requirements, particularly at the interface.Some applications will likely wait for the green light from Apple, which could possibly happen after a few weeks. A user can choose whether to go or not, during this period, these applications. 

2 - No jailbreak available (for now) 

Each version of iOS has its jailbreak , that is to say its unlock solution to remove the fastening introduced by Apple, especially with regard to the installation of applications outside App Store. 

IOS 7, the jailbreak is not yet valid. Users wishing to continue to iOS devices have some features available only on an unlocked device must wait. The jailbreak of iOS 7 is only a matter of time, and sometimes very little . 

3 - Some bugs and curiosities possible 

iOS 7 has gone through several beta versions before the final output. However, some bugs or anomalies may persist during the first weeks of a user to another. In previous versions of iOS, Apple and, very typically, distributed some fixes to address these annoyances menus.

And it was bound to happen because a beautiful flaw has been discovered : it bypasses the lock screen and access to user data.

4 - Wait for the green light from the IT department 

If the iOS device is a professional terminal, better before updating to ensure the support of the release by the IT department of the company. It must first ensure compatibility with internally developed applications and solutions with fleet management and security (MDM). 

An update of the early professional user could result in an interruption of access to IT resources of the company. 

5 - Delays on older devices 

Apple said , iOS 7 is supported on iPhone from version 4 on iPod (5th generation) and also from the iPad 2. However, compatibility does not necessarily mean equal in terms of performance. 

And these are often the most recent devices manufacturers that best handle mounted version of iOS. Users should keep in mind that delays can result from updating to iOS 7, especially when a large part of the storage is used and / or that many apps are installed. 

6 - Back to iOS 6 will not be possible 

With test versions of iOS 7 , developers and software testers were able to return to previous versions of the system stable, namely iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4. But with the finalized version of iOS 7, this is not guaranteed. 

Moreover, in previous major updates of the Apple OS, it has become increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to perform a downgrade. Often it is also necessary to use third party applications, non-Apple, and thus follow an officially unsupported by the manufacturer process.
