After a few leaks and speculation, the operating system Android 4.4 KitKat becoming more concrete. Indeed, a site called Gadget Helpline seems to have had in his possession or Build KRS65B KitKat installed Android 4.4 on a Nexus 5. Of course, we are certain that it is not yet the final version of the operating system from Google that is supposed to be unveiled on October 15, but it should be much closer.
Moreover, you can still see a large letter "K" on the home screen of the device, with the addition of a slice of lemon to indicate that the construction still is marked Key Lime Pie, I have admit that mention intrigue me, because normally Android 4.4 should be named KitKat and not Key Lime Pie.
Thus, the first change that we skipped the eyes is in settings where we can find a new icon with the word "payments" that could suggest whether an option to make payments without contact with the NFC system. Otherwise, the design is the same for the rest, and the interface is identical to that of today.
You can also see another new feature is the option to print. However, the team that was responsible for testing the OS indicated that once you enter this section, the smartphone had a white screen. This leads us to believe that Google is still working on this new option. However, one can immediately imagine that this is an option to pair the smartphone with a printer to print documents or other.
On the display settings, we found no difference compared to the current Nexus 4.
Then we can also see that a new sub-section called "Manage Mobile package" found in "Settings" then "other." This section can be a sort of spin-off between data use and management of its own traffic.
Furthermore, as you can see in the picture below, the baseband version is M8974A-0.0.21.0.0.7 while the current is the M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.84. Recall, however, that this is an OS still in the testing phase, even if the same version of the baseband is also present in the log file that was leaked a few days there.
However, as you can see below, the core is indeed updated to 3.4 on August 28th while the core currently being used has been finished since June 17 And again, you can see that the ROM uses the designation "Key Lime Pie".
As for the display of the network, there is not much has changed except maybe the color: the icons are bright white, unlike today.
Concerning the change of the interface, the most obvious is probably the numeric keypad. As you can see from the picture below, the design has completely changed, with a black background so that we currently use has shades of blue. Otherwise, we can see that Google has removed the lines between the keyboard and the color of the numbers are different. Otherwise, the icon to the calls in the middle on the lower part of the screen.
When you edit an image in the gallery, Android 4.4 KitKat give us the opportunity to save it as a PDF file or send it to a printer on your network so that you can print.
On the picture below is a option to print the picture you just took:
Otherwise, for the rest of the picture gallery, there is nothing new except maybe being able to change the image resolution and quality.
The application of the camera also has not changed:
For pre-installed applications, Google Pack is still present, but with the addition of the QuickOffice application, which I remind you is available from the Google Play Store.
Of course, we must not overlook the fact that this is not yet the final Build, and there may be changes or added features.
